she was right, ariadne was right. let the world know that she was right to suspect that mister inigo del fucking-rosario was doing something to her profile when it took a little bit too long for him to give her back the phone. the worst part, is that she probably wouldn't have realized anything if not for the swipes and messages that came afterwards. [break][break]

at first, they were amusing. then another one popped up. then another. and another. then came "googly eyes" when she put on the text-to-speech. [break][break]

when she realizes, her blood boils slightly and her lips crack a strained smile, and slowly turns her head towards where she last heard a man's voice. [break][break]

"ku'uipo?~" she asks in a sing-song tone, betraying the underlying irritation. [break][break]

"by giving me googly eyes?" a scoff escapes her lips as she searches, again, for the chair that he's rolled around in the room. "i don't remember asking you to do that?" [break][break]

she searches around a little more, pausing when her hands come across a piece of furniture, and her ears pick up more skidding across the ground. [break][break]

His lips curled inward solely to stifle a laugh that threatened to leave him— because, y’know, stifling the smile that came with would be a stupid idea, either way. Useless, really. Why hide what can’t be seen? Checkmate, blind bitch.[break][break]

”Look, man— ya didn’t say shit about not takin’ creative liberties~!” he cackled, softening the impact with another piece of furniture as smoothly as possible before taking a pause. With light feet, he swiftly stepped off of the chair, squinting around the room before pushing the chair in another direction. ”I dunno why you’re gettin’ so hot and bothered about it when it obviously worked in your favor— like, c’mon!”[break][break]

He began to stalk quietly around the room, watching both her and the chair as he moved briskly.

no need to see what she can hear. [break][break]

his tone says it all, and it grates her ears. it's such a nice voice he has, and it's a shame it belongs to someone who's so keen on making a fool out of her. the rolls along the floor doesn't do her any favors and, though she can hear it, she can't exactly trust the spatial awareness. [break][break]

"i never said ya could, asshole!" she barks with a smile. her ears perk again, immediately whipping her head towards the soft tap of furniture at another stop. then she does it again, unable to pick up the absence of another tap amidst his voice. [break][break]

aria takes pride in her sense of hearing, especially when her sense of sight is lacking. the chair rolls to a slow and eventual stop, but now something just doesn't sound right as she quickly approaches. when it stops against a piece of furniture with a sharper thud, the initial confidence deflates into more frustration. [break][break]

"you little shit--" she starts, now furrowing her brows. he has to be around here, somewhere, and the sound of footsteps - no matter how faint - helps her pinpoint where the bastard is. "stop being a coward and come. here~."
